Empowering Missouri’s Families to be their

child’s first and most important teacher.

Our Mission

“To be a leading force in the support, education and quality of programs in Missouri, so that all Missouri children will develop to their fullest potential.”

In 1984 recognizing the program's benefits and cost-effectiveness, the Missouri legislature provided state funding to implement parent education programs in all Missouri school districts. And that legislation still stands today!

The Missouri Parents as Teachers Association (MOPATA) is a non-profit organization of parent educators, program supervisors, parents, grandparents, caregivers, community leaders, influential stakeholders, and PAT champions that are committed to speak as one voice in support of fully funded, robust, high quality, Parents as Teachers services statewide.

The purpose of MOPATA is to provide skill-building, peer learning, networking and advocacy so that all Missouri families will have access to high-quality parenting support through Parents as Teachers (PAT) programs.
